hi, I read a report about an accident and didn't understand what did it mean exactly as the following paragraph:

"As a result of their investigation, the engine manufacturer:

Revised the status of the FMU fault codes raising the code rectification priority from Long-Term Dispatch (LTD)

to Short-Term Dispatch (STD). "

what are long and short term dispatchs ? what is the relation with installation a FMU ?

FMU = fuel management unit, and they are referring to how long certain allowable faults may be deferred before maintenance is required.

Faults can typically be deffered (put off to be fixed) for certain periods of time, depending on the fault. The manufacturer looked at the faults and basically made the fix time sooner as a result of the acccident
