  1. yes, very good...and very wise! also use a good broker...

I recommend an online brokerage firm that has good beginner qualitys {like tutorials or an easy to understand set up}, i use zecco, better then schwab, etrade, etc. they are the only ones with free stock trades, no minumums..all the others will charge you fees for trading, but compare and see for yourself. Good luck and happy investing!

  2. You've got the fundamentals and you've got the technical analysts, find out what combination of both you belong to, by figuring out how you like/enjoy to invest. Whatever works for you.

If you prefer to look at price trends you're more technical, if however you really enjoy how interest rates affect consumer spending, you'll love fundamental trading. Either way have fun and enjoy your investment portfolio.

    Happy trading!

  3. The more you know the better decisions you can make.

Also, compare with that industry and see who their competitors are.

Try to know why AMD is down and how that may affect Intel?

So, yes to your question. Good Luck.
