Three days before(24-06-08) when i was watching the night skyes(7:00PM) from my location (Coordinates: 11°0'11"N 76°57'43"E , Coimbatore) and i've noticed a star like light source in south east direction at approx 30 Degs from the ground level and it was very bright. I gazed it for more than 30 mins and suddenly it dissapeared dimming slowly from my view and again reappeared after 10 mins 15 degs approx above the previous source, powering its intensity slowely from dim to bright and stayed there till i went to sleep. The next day the same source, totally appeared from a different position from its previous place but was in south east though. Today it was not there upto 8PM and suddenly appeared at 8.05PM and in a different place still staying south east. Can anyone explain whats happening...

  1. A normal star. How about the wether that three night? Changing of places may due to REFRACTION OF LIGHT.Is that night cold or hot? The temperature, cloud densities, air movement  will affect the position of star, i mean the position of star when we look from the earth.

  3. You probably saw Jupiter.  When it seemed to disappear, it was probably because of cloud cover.

  4. probably just the aliens getting a ride home =)

  5. Aliens, for real. And I think they are causing our global warming to make our habitat more suitable for them, and they want Nasa to just ship us to Mars.  They are evil...but not "too evil".

  6. It could be almost anything, from a spaceship to a star.

  7. satellite maybe

  8. wow...that was kind of confusing.

  9. Jesus is coming eeehar

  10. The brightest object in the south eastern sky before midnight is Jupiter. I can only suggest it's Jupiter you're seeing, with the occasional cloud getting in the way. Tonight it rose at 7.35 pm and it is rising a few minutes earlier each night. If you're definite about the 7pm time, then it can't have been Jupiter. However, if it appears every clear night at roughly the same place and time, then it is Jupiter.

  11. aliens
