  1. Total length of the wood: 66 inches.

Length of each piece that has to be cut: 5.5 inches.

So, number of 5.5 inch pieces from 66 inches of wood is:

    66 ÷ 5.5, which equals: 12 pieces.

This means that 12 pieces of each 5.5 inch can be cut from 66 inches of wood. Hope that helped......

  2. depends on how big the blade of the saw is because you have to adjust for it.

    Between 10 & 12 -

  3. 12

  4. 37

  5. 66 = n *9/2

where n is the number of the pieces

  6. Your answer should be 12, but you have to think about that 1/4 inch that the blade takes of every time you cut! So I'm going to say 11 pieces with a 9 inch piece left over!

  7. Assuming that we aren't allowing for the saw blade thickness since it's not mentioned in the problem, divide the length of the whole by the length of the pieces and keep the whole number result.  (66 / 5.5 = 12)

  8. 12.  Is this a trick question?
