  1. Alright i have that problem ALOT! Ok so you should just tell the teacher and if it is still continuing then you should just tell the principal if you have one!

  2. We need to first find out why is he disrupting the class? Functional analyse his reason behind disrupting using the Antecedent- Behaviour and the Consequence model of Yule and Carr- that is find out:

ANTECEDENT- behind the occurence of behaviour- what happens prior to the behaviour

BEHAVIOUR- how much  is the level of disruption and what all he does to disrupt the class.

CONSEQUENCE- find out what is it that you think maintains his behaviour of disruption, how do you react to his disruption attempts?

This way you'll be able to know the exact reason behind the disruption behaviour of his. Whether he does it to seek attention, to avoid a task/ activity presented by you in the class, or he simply cannot sit still in the class due to some organic pathology, like ADD/ADHD coupled with violent behaviours.

Now, when you know the reason, you can anticipate the next time he would dirupt your class. Try to be a little more clever than him to act like this:

    - RESTRUCTURING THE ENVIRONMENT- Try to avoid the build up of the antecedents. If you would have written how he disrupts the class, by doing what behaviours, it could have been easy to explain you with examples. You may even make him seated near you to constantly keep a check on his behaviour.

    - Stop giving him the necessary attention which he demands from you on other occasions when he is not in the class.

    - Try to pair him up with a buddy from the same class, a child who' s more responsible and can act as a model for him.

    - Give you class points or rewards for being the most quiet class, the most compliant class, etc wherein children learn to act collectively as a group to make their class a better class.

    - Assign different roles to all students on a rotation basis- and include this problem child in this activity. You may even reward the children by giving them certificates of appreciation( printed on a simple A-4 size paper and if possible laminated) for being the best - orator of the class, monitor of the class, cleaner/ environmentalist of the class, singer/ musician/ entertainer/ comedian of the class, etc.

This will motivate not only this child but other children also to take up new duties and tho prove their worth to you in order to gain certificates or badges.

Please try to understand the psyche of this child, if possible

make a home visit to see whether his home environment is conducive enough for him to adjust - are the parents treating him appropriately, or are there frequent fights amongst themselves. You, will have to be a support for this disturbed child who needs your care and love to be on the right path.

A child once wrote to his teacher " If I cannot learn the way you teach, teach me the way I learn".

I wish my suggestions can be of some help to you.

    Thanks.

  3. It really all depends on the policy of the school. Generally if it is bad enough you need to have an appointment made with the Vice-principal, Principal, Dean, or a Counselor to discuss the problem. They can best help you with it. If it is bad enough referrals are generally the next step. at that point it is up to the administration staff to handle the problem (mostly). Still check in with them if it does get that far. Show interest in the students your teaching, even if they are disruptive. It helps strengthen the ties between Student and Teacher and allows them to preform better.

  4. Great answer NS you being the teacher need to figure out WHY! it is called relfective teaching. and by the way just because a child may be silent in your class does not mean they are learning the information in a retainable way.

  5. if the child is on iep not much you can do. is the child dx with something at all? if not bylaw an evaluation can be done. go to www.ed.gov see iep or www.disabilitinfo.gov or ask the principal or school counselor.  if you are in the usa that is.

  6. You have not clearly defined the nature of the disruption in your class...Therefore, any answer given would be assumed and not based upon facts.

  7. Have his Mommy supervise the little monster for a day. No kid wants for other children to see Mommy twist his ear. After you do this once, the kids will all know that your threats have major teeth behind them.

  8. I also go with the no.6 who answered you. but rather this will be your strategies to cope up with the problem.

During your class if this incident once again happen the best way is to STOP in everything you are doing. Let the whole class be aware of  your behavior.  And I think the one who is disrupting you will also stop from his or her dismeanor. Call him or her attention after your classes and explain to him the consequence he / she will recieve if this will happen again.  you are welcome!

  9. Need more information.

I usually make that student an important part of the class.  Incorporate the student into the lesson plan, make them feel important, like they have a special role in the lesson.  Over time their disruptions cease and they becoming one of the better students.  If you focus on the fact that they are disruptive, they will continue and things will get worse.  Use gently persuasion and make them a team member for success.

It has worked every time I've tried, works best on students under age 18.

  10. follow the schools disclipline policy, that is the only thing you ARE suppose to do
