A stupid question: If a man pays his wife for s*x, does it still count as prostitution?

I'm probably gonna get some negative remarks for this, but this is a question that's been bugging me for no particular reason. LOL!

Prostitution is described on Wikipedia as "sexual activity in exchange for money". But say a man pays his wife (who isn't a prostitute) to have s*x with him, is that the same thing?

I can't see a reason a husband would wanna pay his wife for s*x, but let's speak hypothetically here. LOL!

  1. i think it is considered prostitution because even if its ur wife ur PAYING her as u would pay any other hooker..

  2. That's a good question, if a little odd.  On the one hand, it may technically be.  But on the other hand, in a community property state half of his money is hers anyway, so is he really paying her?  Unprosecutable at any rate, no way to prove what the money was for.

  3. I think that if a man pays a woman for s*x that it is prostitution even if that woman is his wife. However, it would be hard to actually prosecute someone for such an act. But just to be totally safe...I would play with fake money if my boyfriend and I wanted to play "Hooker." Hope it helps! ^_^

  4. Well he could argue it is a role playing thing and so he isn't "paying" her. He could argue he was giving her the money any way and this was just to add some spice to their marriage. To be honest I don't know what would happen, but the thing is that she would have to go to the police and file a criminal complaint. Either that or the police would have to catch them in the act. I mean catching them is going to be difficult.

  5. If the only way he can have s*x with her is for payment, yes it is prostitution. In England and many countries this would be perfectly legal as prostitution is not an offence. If on the other hand, she gave him the money back, he could, hypothetically, be prosecuted for living off the earnings of prostitution which is an offence.
