  1. I'm going to volunteer this summer at the Blue Ridge Parkway. It doesn't pay but its something to do.

  2. You can cut grass and do some gardening works for neighbors.

  3. paper route

  4. There's a few things you can do.  But the labor laws don't kick in until you're 14.  When you are 14 you can go to your school and have your parents get you a work permit.  You can photocopy that and turn it in along with your application.

There are a few jobs you can still do, even at 13.

At any age (even age 13) you can:

    Deliver papers

perform in radio, television, movies or theatrical productions

Work in your parents business (nothing hazardous)

perform minor chores around a home

make evergreens or make evergreen wreaths

    certain agricultural jobs.

    babysitting

The national statute for youth labor laws allows the states to set stricter laws.   Wherever there is a stricter law on youth employment the national statute says that will be the one followed.

Here are some interview questions you will need to know if you go for an interview:

And places where you can look for a job when you turn 14.

    It has interview advice, too.
