If the wire must be anchored 46 feet from the base of the antenna, what length of wire is required?

  1. 46*√(2) or 65.05 feet


  2. a^2 + b^2 = c^2

    (46ft height)^2 + (46ft out distance)^2 = c^2

    46^2 + 46^2 = 4232

    4232 = c^2

    c = sqrt(4232)

       = ~ 65.053823 ft

    Of course, I assumed it was a 46ft HIGH antenna!!  It might have also been a 46ft horizontal antenna.  In that case, you don't have the height at all.  So, it's assumed it is a 46ft high monopole, sticking straight up.
