A few months ago I got a call from a company and I made the mistake of giving them my information/credit card information, etc, and I never got ANY magazines and it's been several months now. I didn't even know their number or what the magazines were or ANYTHING, and today I get a call back from them, and I said look, I never got any magazines from you, I don't even know anything about your company, you're harassing me, CANCEL THIS , I want this cancelled.

They said "we can't, we have you on tape as wanting this and you can't cancel."

I said "well then I"m taking legal action. I don't want this."

They said, what we CAN do is lower it from 80 a month for 30 months to 39.99 for 30 months and then after you get your info/magazines, if you don't like it you can then call and cancel, which I agreed to.

However when I called customer service back, they said,..we don't know how to go ahead and cancel.

It was like utter bs.

I don't know what just happened here.

What should I DO?

  1. you are definitely not very bright/ all you have to do is call your credit card company and stop this account. you may have to fill out some paperwork.you sound and act like you are about 12. you have no business having a credit card without common sense.

  2. Like the other guy said... call your credit card company and tell them that you think this is a scam.  The credit card company should credit you for any charges and take over the investigation for you.  I would also recommend contacting the Better Business Bureau.  You can file a complaint on line.

  3. You just call your credit card issuer and explain this to them and tell them  you want to protest any charges already made and want any future charges by this company rejected. Don't expect the magazine (or rather the boiler room phone operation that sells the subscriptions) to fix it.

  4. Contact your credit card company immediately and work it rhough with them.
