  1. well its sorta true.

a teacher teaches a student somehting

the student may go on and teach it to someone else. eventually, it may lead to a new discovery which then leads to another discovery

  2. Not just teachers. Anyone can have a lasting impact--good or bad--on another's life. Even if the impact is negative, the other person can take something positive away from the experience, something to apply later or something that person can choose never to do. Teachers in particular have an awesome opportunity to influence people and shape lives. Years later an adult might look back on grade school or high school and not remember the parties or former friends as well as that one teacher who taught something far more important that what's in the curriculum. Maybe the teacher took extra time to work with a student or helped the student with a problem that was on the student's mind. The best teachers are those who are cool and fascinating, have great stories to tell and go out of their way to make learning fun, or they made a huge difference just by caring and being there when a student was going through a really hard time. Life lessons have lasting effects in people's lives.

Some people pass through our lives as scenery we're vaguely aware of. Some slip in for a brief time and wreak havoc or make a difference even if it's in some small way. Others are meant to be in our lives longer to teach us lessons or somehow shape our lives.
