  1. 93.3, because the boiling point in F is 212 degrees, which is 100 degrees celicius, so 200 and 93 are equivalent.

  2. same as the others 93.3

  3. 200 degrees fahrenheit  = 93.33 degree  celsius

  4. Well... There are a lot of correct answers, but what you need is a bit of background information so that you can guess it in your head.

Farenheit was a guy that wanted to find a range of temperatures that reflected where he lived in Germany. It is useful in a human way if not in a scientific way. When it really felt cold he marked the range zero. when it felt really hot he marked the range 100. This is not vrey scientific, but it reflects human comfort rather well. In that scale water freezes at 32. He was obvioulsy more comfortable with cold weather than I am. 100 does seem hot to me though, so he was right about the high end.

Centigrade is based on the freezing and boiling temperature of water. this is more scientific, but who cares what water feels, huh? Anyway, most of the world follows that scale now, which just proves that the world is less caring about human opinions and more caring about scientific facts. Right?

So what do we have. water freezing at zero or 32, and water boiling at 100 or 212. 100 degrees of separation in celcius.

180 (212-32) degrees of separation in Farenheit.

So an F is worth 1.8 C, or almost 2 times as big.

    So to convert F to C subtract 32 and divide in half. This will give you a ballpark number. For example 32 F...32 - 32 / 2   = 0

212 - 32 / 2 = 90 This reflects the error of dividing by 2 instead of 1.8, but is it far easier to do in your head. :) If you divide by 1.8 you will be correct.

To convert C to F you double it and add 32.

    0 C... 0 x 2 + 32 = 32. Right on.

    100 C... 100 x 2 = 200 + 32 = 232 which is obvioulsy too large but in the ballpark.

:-D If you stick your hand in oil at 212 or 232, you won't be able to tell the difference! Ouch! Don't try it!!! Both are very very hot by human standards. That is called deep frying, or Frenching  by the way and is how they cook french fries. No! I don't mean french kissing, although that is hot as well.

  5. B. 93.3

  6. B. 93.33 degrees Celsius.
