A threesome battle expected in the Killarney Welcomes Bordeaux Racecourse INH Flat Race
Taking their chances with the €4,830 prize money of the Killarney Welcomes Bordeaux Racecourse INH Flat Race are ten five to seven-year-old contenders. They will race over two miles and a furlong at Killarney on Thursday, 30th August. Majority of the entries on the line-up are lightly raced with one who will race his career debut through the outing today.
The six-year-old bay gelding, Jolly Mac Vic, has caught the eye of the audience and pleasantly surprised the connections by ending as the runner-up in the Follow Roscommon On Facebook Maiden Hurdle on 20th August, 2012 at Roscommon over two miles and 4 ½ furlongs.
He missed the race by 1 ¾ lengths while riding with, B. M. Cash, as the race was won by, Easy Reach, who accomplished the success in partnership with, Robbie Colgan.
The D. E. Fitzgerald trained is to race flat today and that too over the distance that is less than over which he qualified as the runner-up. The only thing familiar in the race is the jockey otherwise the level of competition, the contenders, the distance and the venue are all new for Old Vic’s Irish bay gelding out of, Penny Apples.
An entry who has raced the career debut at Killarney and ended third is the five-year-old Irish bay gelding, Oscar Zulu. He missed clearing the International Rose Of Tralee Festiva Ladies Flat Race on 18th July, 2012 at Killarney over two miles and a furlong.
The favourite entry of the race, Magic Spear, won the event in companionship with jockey, Ms. K. Walsh, and by the margin of 1 ¼ lengths.
For the J. Motherway trained there is really no excuse for losing today as he has raced at the race course and the distance before and even the ride for the 7 to 1 entry is the same.
The 6 to 4 entry for the race, the seven-year-old bay gelding, Klepht, raced for the first time after the three outings during 2010. His seasonal debut was at Killarney and has given him the exposure and experience that is required for winning the race today.
Jolly Mac Vic, Oscar Zulu and Klepht are up for giving each other a hard time today.
