They collide. After this the first car slows down to speed v1 not continuing in the same direction.

1. what is the speed of car 2 after collision?

2. what is the speed of the second car if the first car was travelling at initial speed 15ms-1 then changed to 1.8ms-1 after collision. and the initial speed of car 2 was 11ms-1. both have same mass 0.02kg.

3. Will the answer change if masses are doubled for both toy cars?

  1. doesn`t matter what your theory are.....impact point and collision speed will always equal car 1 + car 2 `speed`.

    impact point = v1(100kph) + v2(120kph)......220kph.

collision speed after impact point  +   Zero kph.(0)

deflection speed after collision/impact = lessens as per weight of each vehicle until Inertia dissolves.....= factors un-known as to actual direction/s of vehicles at Impact point.

answer won`t change , only distances from Impact point vary.
