Question:

A tree fall into our yard. The tree was on the corner and on city property. Who do we call to handle it?

It is huge and its taken ove our whole front yard. Since the tree is not on my property, I dont have to pay for it, right? Someone told me to "call the city". Who would that be exactly? Im in the Tampa area FL.

  1. If the tree was on City Property they are responsible for it. Try calling City Hall. Then when they don't clean it up, call a lawyer, before cleaning it up. Take lots of pictures, you will be going to court to sue the city for the cost of clean up. Use a professional clean up service and their bill is what you sue for, plus legal fees.   Do Call a LAWYER before doing anything yourself. If you don't you may get stuck with all the expenses.


  2. I couldn't find city hall, but try this number, they should be able to transfer you or give you a better one. The city needs to pay to clean up the mess in your yard.
