The virus was in two emails. One was from UPS saying I had a package for collection and the other was Auspost saying the same thing. My virus scanner has picked up the same virus about 6 times and I press heal every time. My computer seems to be running normally but I am worried the virus will steal my personal info. How can I get rid of it once and for all??

  1. Get rid of AVG its c**p thats why you got a TROJAN and get a  decent security. Norton 360 will get it.

  2. We had a nasty virus the other day on our pc and couldnt heal it or do a system restore/go back. So we basically backed up anything we wanted to keep like photos and music and then completely wiped our computor so that it was back to the factory settings. Then we had to reinstall everything again - we had to put windows back on, install our printer etc etc. It took us most of the day but at least it got rid of the virus.

Then before you put your photos etc back on get your anti virus to scan it first.

  3. Delete the emails permanantly. If you have not yet opened the emails, your computer will not be infected - AVG is warning you there are viruses in the emails which would infect your computer if you opened the email. Permanatly delete the emails (Shift+Del) and the virus will be gone. Unless you've opened the emails...

  4. get a different antivirus product and try this website www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan

  5. Download SuperAntiSpyware

    http://www.superantispyware.com/superant...   [Free home edition]

Restart your PC in safe mode, and run a full scan with both your virus scanner and SuperAntiSpyware.

While in safe mode, you may also want to have a look at your start up items by using msconfig.

Be careful with the items you uncheck, you can have a look here to see if they are necessary

You should also have a look at your IE Add-ons while in safe mode.

Disable any you do not use.

After you reboot back to normal mode, download and install ccleaner to fix any registry problems and clean up old temp files.

  6. Go to this site it might solve your problem....Good Luck :-))...

                               http://pcfix.org/

  7. Check and find Virus details on AVG then delete the HKEY files on your system registry.

  8. get antivir free anti virus, it has one of the highest detections on the market and its also free

  9. Get rid of it once and for all! Format the hardisk with the virus. if its still there after that, you'll have to format your whole PC and reinstall windows...

  10. This is probably it; My friend warned me off it.    VERY IMPORTANT - BIG VIRUS COMING !!! PLEASE READ & FORWARD !!!

    http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/pos...

Hi All, I checked with Norton Anti-Virus, and they are gearing up for this virus!

I checked Snopes (URL above:), and it is for real!!

Get this E-mail message sent around to your contacts ASAP.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS WARNING AMONG FRIENDS, FAMILY AND CONTACTS!

You should be alert during the next few days. Do not open any message with an attachment entitled 'POSTCARD FROM HALLMARK,' regardless of who sent it to you.

It is a virus which opens A POSTCARD IMAGE, which 'burns' the whole hard disc C of your computer.

This virus will be received from someone who has your e-mail address in his/her contact list.

This is the reason why you need to send this e-mail to all your contacts It is better to receive this message 25 times than to receive the virus and open it.

If you receive a mail called' POSTCARD,' even though sent to you by a friend, do not open it! Shut down your computer immediately.

This is the worst virus announced by CNN. It has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever.

This virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus.

This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is kept.

COPY THIS E-MAIL, AND SEND IT TO YOUR FRIENDS. REMEMBER: IF YOU SEND IT TO THEM, YOU WILL BENEFIT ALL OF US

Snopes lists all the names it could come in.

  11. Hi. Looks like your computer is running with stupid six or eight-legged bugs!

These are the best antivirus and antispyware that i've ever had:

Avira AntiVir Personal Edition Classic (Free)

    http://www.download.com/Avira-AntiVir-Pe...

(Avira is better than AVG, based on my experience. McAfee and Norton are the worst ones, so don't ever trust them)

    Spyware Doctor Starter Edition (Free)

    http://www.download.com/Spyware-Doctor-S...

(Spydoc is my lifesaver. when I had a horrible virus once, this one has been the only solution. Spyware Doctor is kinda system hog, though... running it requires a lot of memory and uses a big deal of resources on CPU. I suggest disabling it after every use)

    Update these two programs regularly.

    Also, download Smitfraudfix

    http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.p...

    and also Kaizer Virus Killer

    http://www.pinoyspy.net/node/4754

    (download link somewhere below)

They are DOS-based applications, but worked very fine on my computer! Don't be afraid using DOS applications, just follow the instructions and everything will be fine. In the Kaizer Killer, all you have to do is to double-click the application and it automatically removes most viruses in a heartbeat. Just use them in Safe Mode (to start in Safe Mode, press F8 a couple of times before the boot logo appears, you will be prompted to select one of the Startup options, and choose Safe Mode)

The programs detected the viruses that has not been detected by the two GUI programs.

Use Mozilla Firefox as your default browser (because it's absolutely the best browser ever) and always remember to update Windows for system stability.

Hope this works for you. :)

  12. Try downloading spybot, it's free, contact Micro Mart's experts for help!if it does not go.
