  1. try some night time lotion by johnson and johnson listen to ocean sounds try the milk thing use a night light they might really just be afraid of the dark i think the music and the light might help

Are you stupid?  First of all, doctors will not perscribe sleeping pills to children as young as 12.  Second, those parents are RIGHT and you are WRONG.  If the kid needs help sleeping, tell him to count sheep.  I hope you never have kids, because they will obviously overdose by the time they are 15.

First of all, ignore all of the people who answered just to say stupid things and get points, obviously their the stupid ones because they don't know how to act politely to a kid whose looking for help. But they are right its too dangerous for a 12 year old to be taking sleeping pills because they have a very high chance of being addictive but i find that counting sheep doesn't help either. So my best recommendations are to drink a warm glass of milk, take a warm bath, or if you daydream a lot during the day then you can try daydreaming before you fall asleep to help you get into the dream mode and help you fall asleep easier. You can also try listening to soothing sounds and calming aroma's such as a rushing river and the smell after it rains. It might sound very strange but it does help a lot and many stores sell those kind of things especially Walgreen's. I've added two links at the bottom of the link and the first one is for children with Insomnia and even if you don't have that it can still help you fall asleep.   5. Warm Milk it works for my family. Or a nice warm bath just sit and relax in it but be careful you don't fall asleep in the tub !  Good luck and sleep well!

          Why are you planning to have sleeping pills just for the sake of sleeping.. Once you get adicted to the pills you will be addicted very badly and its not that good for health.. Let me tell you some tips to get a good sleep.. After u come from school try to play some outdoor games and then come back to ur house.. Because you will surely get good sleep once you get tired.. So try to play outdoor games as much as you can and sleep...

    The other way to get good sleep is to have milk before sleeping..

    Take a glassfull of milk and am sure u r gonna get a good sleep...

    and am sure that the first way surely works out...

    But please just take off the idea of having sleeping pills in the nights to sleep....

  7. A nice warm bath and a cup of non caffeine tea, may help...Pills at this age are most definitely out of the question.....

  8. my acting coach made us do this thing that made us relaxed and if i cant sleep i do it and it makes me tired

    u lay down and start with your toes. u move around the muscles and bones in your toes but only your toes. then u move up to your ankle but make sure you only do your ankle and not your toes still. then your knees, thighs, hips even your *** muscles then go to ur waist, stomach, shoulders, elbows, arms, wrists, hands, fingers, neck, head , face and then everything.

    make sure when u do each section u breathe in heavily and out heavily. do each section for 5 inhailing and exhailing and u will get pretty tired

  9. get the kid out of the house and stop playing video games all day.  Also wake them up early.  If you have a kid that is awake really late, you wake them up extra early.  No sleeping in until 9 or 10 am or later.  Wake them up at 6am...i guarentee, if they are still wide awake at 10pm, its because they are on meth!

  10. A 12 year old does NOT need sleeping pills ! Take her / him to a doctor and find out WHY. He / she could have a mental / physical problem.

  11. DON'T EVER USE PILLS TO CURE SOME SORT OF "MENTAL ILLNESS". The reason most of us aren't so bright nowadays is because we've been using pills for decades.

  12. melatonin is a homeopathic way to ease sleep

    you can buy it in the vitamin section in your local drug store

    it should help the 12 year old sleep

  15. warm milk and/or warm honey before bed time. When you heat them up it produces triptophan, the same stuff that's in turkey. That's why everyone's always tired on Thanksgiving
