and what is the capacitance if the distance between the plates is 8cm and the surface area is 10cm squared?this is not dielectric.

    Potential difference=V=E*distance=10*8

    answer: =80 volts

    capacitance=c=e*area/L

    e=8.854*10^-12

    e = permittivity of space (air is almost identical)

    area = 100cm^2=0.01 m^2

    100 (cm^2) = 0.01 m^2

    L=8/1000=0.008m

    c=(8.854*10^-12*0.01)/0.0008

    answer:

    capacitance=c=1.10675*10^-10 farad
