A very complicated situation with me and my girlfriend?

so there is this girl that i like and we have gone out before but we broke up for the summer because we were gonna be doing different things so half way through the summer her friend messages me saying are you gonna ask out and i said yes once i see her in person i will ask her out. so then a week later she messages me back saying that she just asked her out for me and she had said yes. but i wanted to ask her myself because then it would be more proper if i did it in person. so now that we have started school i didn't know she actually thought we were going out or not so i asked her if we were together or not and she said yes i thought we were. but then i told her that i wanted to asked her in person over face book and she interpreted it as that i was dumping her then asking her out again. so now she thinks i dont like her and other sorts of stuff like that so im not sure what i should do.

If someone could give me some advice then that would be so much help for my relationship. Thanks you for helping!

you really need to sit down and explain everything to her. basically like this question you wrote above. tell her that you like her and what her friend was doing this whole time. be straight out and dont try to beat around the bush.
