A very rude person??????

There is a guy in my chem class who everybody thinks is absolutely gorgeous. From what I've seen in the past he's been really polite, a pretty good talker too. I recently was assigned to sit next to him (rows of two) and he's been a complete jerk. whenever we have to work together all he does is make cheeky jokes or sarcastic comments. he apologizes sometimes for "offending me" but it's just annoying. i could say the most casual thing like "hey, how's it going?" and he would come up with some remark. he's such a jerk. how do i deal with this guy and why do you think he does this?

it's not me, my last partner was so sweet. it's HIM!!!!!!!

well, there are some people who act like that in because of many ways. He may be "feel at home with you" or he doesn't know how to deal with you.

And I know talking to him can be hard. so, I suggest that you should adjust with him. He's your lab partner so in order to work together, you have to be confident at each other.

If he do those things to you. Reflect that back to him. For example, If he's being sarcastic then defend yourself through being sarcastic and start to giggle a little and "nah, I'm just kidding".

In those cheeky jokes. Try to laugh at them a little. there's nothing will be lost to you if you try giggling a little. So he'll realize that he's a being a good "host" to you.

Just remember best friend, just adjust to a situation. That way, you can get many friends as you can. Be patient

Or just ask your teacher if you could swap places.

I think hes flirting with u. If u said he was nice and polite and hes only being rude 2 u then i think he might like u. Guys are just as afraid to ask someone out as girls so they find ways to take and if that means being a jerk then so be it. Flirt back if u like him but if not then ask to be moved.

Don't ask him how it's going. Only talk about the subject and if he acts immature, behave as though no one spoke. IOW, do not give this behavior any attention and don't invite it. If you are consistent with this, he will likely start to respect you despite himself. I'm sorry you are seated with an infantile person.
