  1. I have been to Dubai twice. The top places I recommend is:

    DO GO TO:

    (1) Mall of the Emirates - that is stunningly THE best mall in Dubai, its squeeky clean, fun, faboulous shops and there is a bar in which you can have shisha (the best shisha bar in Dubai and it was proper fun) on the 3rd floor of Harvey Nickels (located on the 2nd floor of the mall). From my experience, that is the one mall which is not to be missed!

    (2) Al-Mamzar park - This beach is one that is not to be missed! It cost about about 10 Dirhams each person to enter, there is only a handful of people (of which whom were tourists), white sandy beach, coconut palms and warm waters and you can swim in the sea and proper relax and space yourself out, and is the best, most stunning and most peaceful beach in Dubai

    (3) Jebel Ali - Another best place to go - beach is beautiful, a little more people on the beach and swimming there is great!

NOTE:   Make sure you do the desert excursion, IT IS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!! The driver takes about 4 tourists in a 4x4 vehicle into the desert, drives over the dunes (Which was breathtaking!!) and the meal at the tent in the desert at the end was great too, with lively Arabic music and you can ride the camels, and do sandskating.

    DO NOT GO TO....

    1) Bur Dubai - Bur Dubai from my experience just literally takes the mickey. Most of the streets stunk like p*ss or sick etc, the streets were dirty and rough, all the shops were rough, run down and was just cheap shops exactly the same as them cheap shops you get in the UK or US, all the vending machings were rusty and all of them didnt work, and this is no racist statement but in the Bur Dubai area the population was all Pakistanis and Indians, I did NOT see a single arabic person in Bur Dubai. Give Bur Dubai a miss!

    2) Deira (The Gold Souq) - The Gold Souq isnt what you think! I am afraid to say that Deira wasnt much better than Bur Dubai. Again, the streets stunk and was dirty and rough, there was nothing to stop and eat in Deira apart from a McDonalds in which from the Gold Souq you are having to walk all the way to Nasr Square, otherwise its only S****y, run-down cafes in which the food did not AT ALL taste nice, and I didnt think much of the Gold Souq as it was just like jewellary shops like you get in the UK, US, Canada etc, and be warned that the gold jewellary IS NOT AS CHEAP AS THE BROCHURES MAKES OUT!

    3) Burj Al Arab (The 7* star hotel) - The Burj Al Arab Hotel can only really be appreciated from the outside and when its lit up at night. When I arrived there, I was only allowed to take 2 photographs at the entrance and IT IS EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE TO ENTER AND EAT THERE! and when I arrived, all there was to do was to look around and eat at the buffet, which the food wasnt great and was extortionate, and I wasnt allowed to go up OR below ground floor. The only thing I did enjoy about the Burj Al Arab was that the actual building inside AND outside looked spectacular, otherwise, it was a rip-off and a waste of money!

    4) Jumeirah Beach Park - The actual beach was nice, but the beach and in the sea was unbelivably overcrowded. When I went for a swim, I could NOT move about and had to go right out in the sea TO move. Go to Al Mamzar and Jebel Ali instead, its much better!

YOU ALSO MIGHT WANT TO TRY:

The Burjuman shopping mall - That was pretty good

The Ibn Battuta mall - That was OK but I didnt think there was much there

Wild Wadi Waterpark - I have never personally been there but I have been told that it was brilliant, especially for kids. Try there.

NOTE: Most of the other parks (i.e. Al Safa Park, Mushref Park, Za'abeel Park etc) are closed down in the summer

All in all,  in Dubai there are two sides to it

    1) If you follow the "DO GO TO" places in the above, your holiday will be absolutely breathtaking, and something to always remember!!

    2) If you follow the "DO NOT GO TO" places in the above, your holiday will be rubbish, nothing, conned, waste of time and would not be memorable at all!

I know this answer is a lot, but it would break my heart to see someone conned and missing out the brilliant bits whilst there!

    Have a good holiday

  2. Just remember....when Israel and the US zap iran....Dubai is right on it's doorstep.! Try Canada.! or the US

  3. The gold souk is great even if you don't want t purchase any gold it's a dazzeling experience just to have a look around.  Also Al Karama is full of great shops and designer copies, definately the place to shop. Shop in the evening when it's cooler. At Jumira beach the Hard Rock Cafe is great for a meal with the children and they have live music too.

  4. Go to the beach, trust me, it's ace! You must go there.

  5. Ski Dubai in Mall of the emirates

    Wild Wadi (water park)

  6. Dear Friend

Most of the answerer will suggest you on the shopping matter only. All the shopping malls,  Gold malls, wild wadi etc...

But you may aware that shopping/gold/amusement parks are available in all over the world.

I will suggest you the natural beauty of deserts and desert oasis etc. But, the selected time to travel is not this period. Now the hottest summer season is here, so you may able to  go only for shoppings etc...

Desert Safari & Overnight Camping with native arabic dishes and dances in the desert will be a great experience.

You may able to travel to other emirates like Abu Dhabi (Liwa Oasis, Al-Ain etc) /Fujairah (Rocky Hills etc)

Also as usual, Beaches, Shopping (Mall of Emirates/Ibn Battutha Mall/Wafi Mall/City Centre etc), Gold (Gold Suoq), Ski Dubai (in Mall of Emirates), Wild Wadi Water Park etc...

Best of Luck and Have a nice Journey

    Thx

  7. GREAT

go to mall of the emirates

    ibn battuta

    jumeriah beach

    ski dubai

    wild wadi

    NOT WAFI   ITS BORIN

    festival city

    HAVE A NICE TIME.

  8. Since we are in the middle of summer, you will probably want to stay indoors to keep cool.  Mall of the Emirates and Ski Dubai is a nice way to spend a day.  Check with the Big Red Bus company at Wafi Center shopping and you can do the tour of Dubai in a air conditioned bus.... they offer the hop on/hop off buses, so easy to see the different parts of Dubai without having to deal with taxis, which are a nightmare in this city.  Wild Wadi is a great waterpark... located right next to the Burj al Arab.  Other than that, just plan on staying cool.. it is getting very hot these days.  Hope you have a great trip!

  9. Just answered this question yesterday!!!

Dubai is the tourism and commercial capital of the Arabian Gulf states, a fusion between East and West, combining ancient heritage and modern living. In this vibrant, multicultural city, traditional wind towers stand proudly alongside towering skyscrapers and spectacular beach resorts. One of the seven emirates that make up the Federation of the United Arab Emirates. you can visit this site to have more information http://www.dubaicityguide.com/main/index...

Now the summer shopping festival is going on , you can take a look at this website http://www.mydsf.com/dss2008/ and find what activities is going on during your visit ,it is not only Tax free shopping.

wish you have a nice Holiday
