  1. If you are using powder detergent, that could be leaving behind a residue. Try using a liquid detergent & see if that helps.=)

  2. Washing machine filters are usually inside the agitator or somewhere near the lid to the washer, lint filters should always be cleaned periodically to prevent the lint from redepositing back onto the clothes and this will also increase the cleaning performance of your machine when the filter is clean Or it could be detergent residue to remedy this problem just add one cup of White Vinegar to your washer and fill with the hottest water your laundry can handle do not add any detergent set washer on full cycle then remove and dry as usual Good Luck !

  3. It's a good idea to check the filter as your husband suggested.  Check your owners manual if you still have it for instructions.  Manufacturers will often have owner's manuals online, too.

If you can't locate your filter, trying filling your machine with water and let it agitate and drain.  If there is a residue in or on the machine itself this should help rinse it away.

In the meantime, make sure that if you are adding a powder (detergent or additive) that you are not adding too much for the load, and that the machine isn't overloaded.  You can try to cut the amount of powder detergent by as much as half with many brands and still get clean clothes.  Also, if the detergent isn't rinsing away, try replacing your regular fabric softener with white vinegar to help remove excess detergent.

  4. maybe u left paper in yr pockets?

  5. the filter is in the drier not the washer,

I believe that when you washed something earlier there must have been a piece of paper, a Kleenex that was left in pockets and this will be the culprit, or there was a towel in the washer when you added your dark clothes in it and left fuzz all over your clothes, rewash and always turn those pockets inside out before washing and make sure that the detergent that you use is well dissolved before adding your clothes.

  6. If you're using powdered detergent, that's most likely the culprit, especially if you have hard water, and even moreso if you're using a cold water cycle.

If powdered detergent is the culprit, make sure you turn the washer on and start filling the tub with water, then add the detergent, before you add your clothes. This will allow the detergent to dissolve in the water, not leaving residue on your clothes. If your water pressure is very low, you may want to wait and let the washer agitate to dissolve the detergent before adding clothes.  Or...you can use a quart jar, dissolve your detergent in warm water in the jar, and then add to the already filled washer.

  7. Periodically washing machines need to be cleaned.  Here is how you do it. Fill the washer with hot water.  Add one quart of chlorine bleach(no detergent).  Run the washer through the longest cycle.  When the washer is still wet - this should be immediately after the bleach cycle - add 1 quart of white vinegar and run the washer through the same cycle again.  This will clean out soap scum and mineral deposits from the spin basket and also from the hoses.  If you live in an area with hard water, you need to do this every 3 months: otherwise every 6 months will do.  You will be amazed at the difference it will make.
