Question:

A way to put cable over the air, so my tv in a room without a cable jack can watch cable?

So I have a tv in my garage that I just finished into a room...and it looks like it's too much fuss to put in a new cable outlet.

Is there anything I can buy similar to the iTrip for an iPod, to hook up to my cable box in the other part of the house, that will project that signal over the air (short range) to the tv in the finished garage, like I'm watching an over-the-air channel? Thanks.

  1. They've been making video transmitters for years. They have a few on Amazon.

I think you'd be better off having cable installed in your garage. Your cable company will probably do it for a nominal fee. With these wireless transmitters, they might not work that well. Read some of the reviews.

  2. The problem is that these transmitters have to be connected to something that feeds them the signal through RCA jacks.  You can use a TV that has audio and video OUTPUTS, a VCR or a DVD player - but you can't change the channel, start or stop the VCR/DVD, or anything else.  To do that, you need a "remote control extender" as well as the Video/Audio broadcaster.

I'd go with running another cable to the garage; it will probably be less work and more versatile.
