Question:

A week and a half old kitten with shut eyes?

My kitten's eyes are shut and it has all this gooey stuff on it.I used a warm wet cloth to clean it off.Its eyes open,but an hour or so later its shut again.I cant take it to the vet.So what should I do?

  1. keep cleaning them.

    eyes open at about 10 days, so he is right on time. not sure if you were concerned because they were not open yet.


  2. your kitten is still young so dont try to force and open it

    it takes time

    and if it doesnt open by the 3rd week then take it to a doctor

  3. It usually takes up to 2weeks before their eyes open. So it may be just late on it's eyes opening, but by 2or so weeks if they haven't yet, I would definitely call the vet and just ask, to see what they say(extra advice) or even a pet shop may know. Hope this helps!

  4. normally kittens eyes dont open until about 2 weeks. she/he may be trying to open them but the body says no. keep gently wiping the goo off. but get the kitten to a vet ASAP. it may have something stuck in its eyes. hope this helps!!
