Hi

I'm going to Spain for a week, and would like to do a few things, but particularly visit some battlefields/sites from the Peninsular War. Does anybody have any good suggestions as to where to go/see? I have to think practicality (probably train or taxi!)

Thanks

  1. try to visit "la sagrada familia" in barcelona thats a beautiful place ok

  2. What is the Peninsular War?  I'm pretty well-versed in Spanish history.  Never heard of anything referred to as that?

  3. You lucky chap. start at Lisbon, (Torres Vedras.), Badajoz, Talavera, Madrid, Vittoria, Corunna. A Spaniard may know if ther is a practible route between them.

    For Sue

The Peninsular war is the usual name for the British part in the expulsion of Bonaparte from Spain and restoration of the legitamate Spanish monarchy. It started with the Battles of Vimeiro and Busaco in 1808. The allied armies, led by Wellington, crossed into Spain after the fleeing French in the early spring of 1814
