Question:

A week late, negative preg tests -- is pregnancy still a possibility?

My last period was July 24th and my cycles are normally 32 to 33 days long, so I was due a week ago, Aug 26.

I took pregnancy tests ($ tree) on Aug 28, 29, 30 first thing in the morning, and Sept 1 at noon. All were negative, but the first 2 had faint lines after 10 minutes (probably evaporation lines.)

I've had spotting 2 or 3 times since my last period, which I've never had before. Absolutely NO PMS which always hits between 9 - 14 days before my period is due. I'm exhausted, peeing often, and having dizzy spells.

Is is still possible I'm pregnant?

I'm 21, not stressed at all, very healthy, not on birth control pills, and have never been this late before.

  1. I was pregnant and got negative tests.  I didn't got a positive until much later.  I was 10 weeks when I found it.

  2. Yes, it is possible that you could still be pregnant. The brand or type of HPT doesn't make a difference, since they're all the same. False negatives are not impossible. It could be that you have taken the tests too soon for it to show up yet, so I would give it another week or so. If you don't see anything by then, and still have not gotten your period, I would check with your doctor.

    Best of luck to you!

  3. Baby you should go too the doctors so that you can fine out whats is really going on with you body. instead of guessing. good luck.

  4. It is still a possibility that you are pregnant. Most home pregnancy tests you have to be at least 10 to 12 days pregnant to even pick up the hormones. you can also have a light period or spotting and still be pregnant. I didn't even know I was pregnant the first time until I was almost 8 weeks along cause I had a period and was only a week or so late. I would say to wait about another week and take an another test or go to the doctor or pregnancy clinic cause they can detect pregnancy sooner. If your not pregnant this could be another health issue so try not to wait to long to go to the doctor.
