A weird phone number just called me? HeLp!?

Ya,okay, I got called from- 000-012-3456

Just now, okay I live in the USA, what area code is 000?!?

O_____o?!?! I called them back about 5 times but after the second rings it says it cannont be completed as dialed...does the person have their phone off? I want to keep calling them because they disrupted my peace while I was SLEEPING!

HELP =D?!

Call your operator and ask what area code it is.  Or try entering it in a search engine and see if there is a name attached.  It could be a bill-collecting or telemarketing company overseas.

Yes! It is Someone use Skype out  to call you, i had Skype out to US & Canada package,so i had forward the Skype out  to my cell-phone, I see that number all the time.someone is using the Skype out to call you!

It seems like it's an UNKNOWN NUMBER or does not want to be traced.

OH... or they could be calling using the program SKYPE. That is definitely the number that appeared when someone was calling ME through Skype.

And if you don't want to be disturbed while sleeping, unplug the phone. You need your rest. =)

EDIT:

Yes, I just Googled it... and it IS someone using Skype. The same thing happens to other people. So either the person who called you didn't want to be found out (so they used Skype)... or it was a wrong number.

For instance when I call someone it shows 000-012-3456 in the receiver's caller ID. Is there a way so that I can set it up to show a different number?

If not, then if I get SkypeIN, will it show the SkypeIn number?

there is no area code in the us that is 000. theres a new thing out where you can go online input someones number and then put in any number you want to show up on their caller ID and then it calls you. that might be what happened to you. also like the other person said it could be a telemarketer.

There is no such area code. It's a fake number. With digital phones, some hackers are able to get in and put any number they want into the id. It is usually just some scumbag telemarketer. Ignore it and don't pick up the phone when you see strange id's.

Yes, it is from someone using Skype.

If they had a SkypeIn number it would show their SkypeIn number - otherwise it shows 1-000-012-3456 if they only use SkypeOut.
