A man is pushing a wheelbarrow full of very heavy sand, and needs to get to a patch of land that is surrounded by a moat. the moat on each side is 5 feet wide and very deep (depth is irrealevant). All the man has is the wheelbarrow of sand and two 4foot boards. the boards are big enough to hold the man and the wheelbarrow. How does he get across.

Also: there is nothing but what the man has to help him, and there is nothing on the island that could help.

  1. Pour the sand into the moat and then place the two boards on top. Then walk across. =]

  2. use one of the boards as a raft, place the wheelbarrow on it and then paddle across the moat with his hands

  3. Dunno.

It has something to do with the weight of the wheelbarrle. like using the wheel barrel to hold the one board suspended over the moat, and the other laying on that board......

  4. He places board such that 1 feet of the board's on the ground n stands on it, he leaves the other 3 feet of it hanging in the air  n places the other board on it, he pushes the wheelboro onto the other end so that it's weight balances the second board for him to cross over..

  5. Fastens the 2 peices of wood togethe to make a X
