A work form (W4) is dated 1998. Should i use this?

I got my first job and they gave me a W4 [1998]. (That's what it says on the top.) Is this okay to use?

Go to IRS.GOV and print out a current one.

Even if you use the old one, you are fine--it's just that the amounts have changed since 1998.

YES you can use the old form.............................

the difference is the work sheet that goes with it which most people don't use anyway. the form is used to gather information and is kept with the employers payroll files.  the actual form does not go to the government only the information that you fill in does.
