I am working on a project which involves sticking a paper template onto sheet of plywood or plastic and then drilling/sawing according to the pattern on the template. Where can I locate (in the UK) A4 paper with adhesive one side....? (Found one which was 5 sheets for £1.99 which seemed expensive?)

  1. That really isn't a bad price for paper with an adhesive back.  You might try a spray can of "Spray Tack" or white contact paper.  These items can be found at most hardware and home improvement stores.

  2. You can get full size A4 labels in the ranges of inkjet and laser labels. There are variations - the label may peel off leaving a border so you have a label a bit smaller than A4. Some have multiple slits in the backing sheet to make it easier to remove if you are making smaller custom size labels. Lastly and best for your purpose there is one central vertical slit in the backing paper for using the whole sheet.

My shop charges £7.86 for a box of 100 sheets. Because small packs are expensive we split these boxes and charge 14p a sheet to customers who only want a few sheets. Not many shops will do this as it is time consuming and stock gets damaged so it is probably not worth your time looking for a shop that does this but if you do look for an independent retailer rather than a chain store.
