I have been lent an external hard drive with AAC audio files and MP3s to download to my laptop. I can play them ok but i have to open each file to see what the song is. Is there any software that i can download to my laptop which will allow me to scroll through the files giving me the artist and song track, as would happen if i used an ipod etc.

Many thanks for your help

  1. itunes

  2. Ummm. iTunes????

Or Windows Media Player - but I'm not sure of compatibility with AAC format.

  3. to use an ipo you MUST use itunes and itunes is a music browser and player..

you add the songs to the itunes library by dropping the drive onto the library icon in itunes it then builds a list of the files..

once you have the songs on itunes you can add them to an ipod by syncing to it but you mUST have the drive plugged in at the same time as itunes is open to do this!! (do nor unplug to put in the ipod and expect it to sync properly)

  4. iTunes is the only really capeable of showing all the information, plus it also sorts out mp3 files as well. I know a fair bit about organizing media on the computer, Ive been doing it for years. If you need any help feel free to email me! :) Peace and good luck mate.
