The Association of American Universities (AAU) Boys Volleyball National Championships are scheduled to begin on Thursday, June 21.
The Orlando Sports Centre in Orlando, Florida will be the home of action during the tournament, which will be opened with the preliminary round-robin. The first round of the tournament will cover its length in three days and on Sunday will start single-elimination
brackets. The finals of the under-14 to under-18 boys’ teams will also be played on Sunday, which will be played at Orange County Convention Centre situated at Lake Buena Vista in Florida.
Under-14 category has a total of 11 teams whereas six teams will play in the under-15 category. Under-16 & 17 competitions will feature 12 and 8 teams, respectively. Eight club teams will compete in the U-18 category of the AAU Boys Volleyball National Championships.
South Indy Volleyball Club, which is located in Indianapolis Indiana, will be highlight of the under-18 competition as it is the first boys’ team from that area (Indiana) to come to Orlando for this tournament.
Jack Lesure and Brendan Duff are the two main players of South Indy Volleyball Club. Lesure, who is a tall fellow, helps the team as outside attacker. On the other hand, Duff has expertise as setter. Lesure has the experience of playing at Division-1 volleyball,
where he was supervised by highly influential coach Joel Walton. Likewise, Duff proved his endeavours at Carmel High School before joining South Indy Volleyball Club.
Currently, both Lesure and Duff are in good shape to amaze the audience with their skilful play. They already have two state titles to their names and they are no stranger to success. They have aim to secure National Championship title.
Duff disclosed his thoughts in the following comment. He said, “We have been working on becoming a team and realizing what our strengths and weaknesses are. Talent wise, we will be one of the strongest overall teams down there but we just need to make sure
we can come together and play as a team if we want to win the title.”
Following the completion of 2012 AAU Boys Volleyball Championships, Duff has got plans to join Webber International University in Babson Park Florida for National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) beach volleyball.
