The Frenchman was relieved of his coaching duties by the Corsican club following the embarrassing defeat against fellow relegation threatened club, Troyes AC in the Ligue 1 fixture.
The news came in shortly after AC Ajaccio suffered a defeat at the hands of fellow Ligue 1 outfit, Troyes AC. Despite a good start to the season, Alex Dupont was fired by the Corsican-club, mainly due to the club performing abysmally in their last few games.
Ajaccio lost all three points to their hosts, Troyes, as they fell to a 3-2 defeat at the Stade de l’Aube. The two late goals scored by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-c29347 Lasne and Johan Cavalli, provided nothing more than consolation. Dupont’s men were mostly dominated by the Ligue
1 outfit throughout the game.
The 58-year-old Frenchman was sacked by Stade Brestois 29 last season after spending 3 years at the club. The tactician was then appointed by AC Ajaccio, who were seeking a replacement for the recently departed Olivier Pantaloni.
Dupont led his side to a good start to the campaign, as l’Ours managed to win 7 points from their first give games. However, the coach was unable to motivate his side to produce the same results later on, which eventually led the French outfit being threatened
by relegation worries.
The club President, Alain Orsoni, felt that it was necessary to part ways with the coach. The supremo believes that the values of the Corsica-based side have not been seen, and seem like a distant memory of the past. He explained:
“I don't see the values that have previously been our forté. I don't feel the unity, the commitment and determination which are necessary to ensure you remain in the top flight.”
The chairman feels sad regarding the decision, but stated that there was no other option. However, he didn’t entirely put the blame on the coach, as he warned the players as well, who haven’t been performing up to the mark. Orsoni stated:
