AC Milan and Benfica target Danilo will be snapped up by Juventus, says FIFA agent Antonio Caliendo
According to FIFA agent, Antonio Caliendo, Juventus have stolen a march on their fierce rivals, AC Milan, and will shortly sign Danilo from Santos.
Caliendo, who acts as a representative of many high profile players including http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Maicon-c23157, has tipped Danilo to be the hottest property in Italian league.
"The next big signing in Serie A will be made by Juventus, who will land Danilo, young player of Santos," he was quoted as saying.
The Santos starlet began his fledgling career with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/U-17-Youth-team-c40787 of America-MG and worked his way up the ranks to become involved with the first team setup, shortly making his debut for the Rabbits in 2009. He made 9 appearances for the club in the Brazilian Series C Championship and helped them gain promotion to the Serie B.
His stint with the Brazilian outfit was cut short when the 19-year-old signed for Santos in 2010, after his playing rights were bought a group of investors.
Danilo is an integral part of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 U-20 team and was a major catalyst in their run in the 2011 South American Championships, where his attacking abilities saw him bag a goal.
The youngster is supposedly on the radar of Portuguese giants, Benfica, and has hinted that he will prefer Estadio do Luz over all other destinations because of the club’s winning mentality and ability to challenge for honours at the highest level.
The Reds were looking to sign the coveted star as a possible replacement for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 Madrid colours next season. But their chase came to sudden halt, when Santos threatened to report their alleged ‘illegal’ pursuit of their star asset.
"No offer has been made to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santos-c32532. We have been hearing many news about interest from the Portuguese club, and it is even speculated that the foundations to an agreement with the player have been laid."
"If that is confirmed, we will file a complaint to FIFA because there is lack of ethics on Benfica's part, if they are acting in such a way.” Caliendo said.
With Benfica out of the race to land his signature, the Old Lady can take initiative and acquire http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danilo-c10159’s services right under the nose of their fierce rivals.
