M’Baye Niang arrived on the scene as a 16-year-old player for French side Caen who are now going to play in Ligue 2 next season. The striker has the record of the second youngest goalscorer in Ligue 1 history behind former France international Laurent Roussey.
The 2010/2011 season showed world football the potential the player of Senegalese descent possessed. In his first ever senior team season, M’Baye Niang scored three league goals in seven appearances. Now 17 and with a full season behind him, the Meulan-born
striker is garnering interest from a host of sides in Europe.
English media, The Daily Mirror claims that the teenage sensation is attracting a lot of interest from reigning English Premier League champions Manchester City. But it now appears that it is not just the English sides that have fallen for the charms of the highly talented player. Reports claim that Italian Serie A giants, AC Milan are also keen on signing the youngster.
An Italian news agency claims that AC Milan’s sporting director; Areido Braida is set to have a meeting with the 17-year-old’s agent. The Lombardi club has already sold http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029 may follow suit due to the club’s financial
woes and signing players at low price is likely to be the club’s policy this summer.
With so many suitors, young M’Baye Niang will definitely be torn for choice. Furthermore, with Caen set to play in Ligue 2 next season, the 17-year-old will be eager to seek a move away from Normandy in order to continue his development elsewhere.
