AC Milan and the estrangement of the faithful at the San Siro (Part Two)

Milan have come under hot waters as they have indulged themselves in some mega sales over this transfer window and we look to see how they have made amends.

There is unprecedented pressure on the club’s management as there are various factors restricting their ability to appease the fans.
Where fans were considerate enough to understand the departures of the Rossoneri legends like Nesta, Gattuso, Seedorf and Inzaghi; they were less forgiving when talks of the departures of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-Silva-c34903 surfaced.
When the transfer window started, Paris Saint-Germain showed great interest in acquiring the services of Thiago Silva. After the club initially rebuffed any approaches being made by the Parisian outfit, a fee seemed to have been reached between the two clubs
after PSG’s bid of 47 million Euros was accepted by the Rossoneri board. There were great protests by the fans and it took a last minute blocking of the deal by Silvio Berlusconi for the deal to collapse.
The move was deemed as heroic by many club officials, and Silva went on to sign a new contract with the club which increased his salary to 7.5 million Euros. He became the second highest player at the club behind http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029, who was taking 9 million
Euros per annum from the club.
The Parc de Princes outfit launched another bid to Milan, this time they gave in a joint bid for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva. They put in a mammoth bid for the services of the two clubs, with the bid being 60 million Euros for the two players. The
money was too good for Milan to turn down, and this time there were no “heroics” by Berlusconi as he gave the go ahead for the move to materialize.
The President of AC Milan, Silvio Berlusconi, justified the sales of the two highest earners of the club by stating that the club would be saving 150 million Euros in the next two seasons, and that is what forced their hand to part ways with their best talent.
Besides that the ego of the fans seems to have been shattered by the fact that they cannot resist and overturn offers for their best players. Despite the salaries they commanded, Ibra and Silva brought along with them a great deal of character to the Italian
club and they were a reason for many players to sign up for AC Milan.
There are financial constraints which have forced many Italian clubs to think a great deal before mulling over making a big money move. There has not been a single high profile signing by any Serie A club, which speaks a lot on the topic.
The tax structure in the country is different to that of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, and the fact that the country is looking to bounce back from a recession, there is rationale behind the decision of Milan to lay off their players.
But the question remains at what cost. The sales for the season ticket holders has been the lowest in a long time, which shows how much the decisions in this past month have affected the club.
The club is looking to appease their fans by looking to lure http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ricardo-c30950 Kaka back to AC Milan; however, any move seems far from possible at the moment as the wages of the player is creating a huge stumbling block.
The fact that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Riccardo-Montolivo-c31049 is their highest profile signing of the summer also suggests the despair of the fans.
