AC Milan are not tracking Hamsik and Pastore, says Adriano Galliani – Serie A Update
AC Milan Vice-President, Adriano Galliani, has refused rumours linking the club to a ‘list of target players’ for the summer transfer window. Players like Napoli’s playmaker Marek Hamsik and the young Palermo sensation, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Pastore-c18082, were reported to be
the outfit’s top choice of players for the summer market.
The Rossoneri are in search of a midfielder who would fill in the space on the left side of the midfield. In this regard, Galliani last month hinted towards a few names from across http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926. Hamsik was amongst the names but Pastore has ended up being another
rumour circulating the Italian top flight. Udinese midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 and Rafael Van Der Vaart, were also hinted as possible targets.
Silvio Berlusconi later declared AC Milan out of the race to sign Hamsik, and Galliani has now backed his boss by affirming his statement.
“We have the need for one player - you know the characteristics. Are there affairs between us and the third-placed team in the league? Theoretically yes. From a political point of view there is no problem but when we talk about Hamsik, they respond ‘you
can't touch him’ and we won’t touch him.” The Milan transfer chief said.
The Vice-President had previously refused any contact with Palermo for Pastore and he has restated his stance on the midfielder.
“Palermo’s Pastore? We aren’t looking at him. He is a more like a striker and we are searching for a left midfielder,” concluded Galliani.
AC Milan are keen to add a quality player to the roster owing to the fact that their high profile set-piece specialist, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Captain-c8314,
Cesc Fabregas, and Liverpool’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alberto-Aquilani-c4313 have both been linked with a transfer to the Italian champions but nothing concrete has been reported yet.
