Italian Serie A outfit, AC Milan, are believed to be chasing the Read Madrid firepower, Cristiano Ronaldo, for the next season. AC Milan club owner and the Italian Prime minister, Silvio Berlusconi, has revealed that he would love to lure Ronaldo and some
other big names to the club during summers transfer window, but only if the Rossoneri win the league honours.
The 74-year-old Berlusconi, while speaking to a private TV channel about the new recruitment plans, said:
“In the next transfer period, if we win the league title, we will be buying one or two big names. If we signed Ronaldo, I think it would make everyone happy.”
Cristiano Ronalod has been in excellent form throughout this season for the La Liga outfit, Real Madrid. The Portuguese international has 40 goals to his account in all competitions this season, making him the one of the top performers in Europe. Jose Mourinho,
Madrid’s coach, has claimed that club has no intentions to sell him to any other club.
AC Milan’s desire to sign Ronaldo during the upcoming summer transfer season can be indicated with the statement of their club owner who said ‘Dreaming isn’t forbidden’.
Berlusconi added “The opportunity of adding a champion like Ronaldo to this team will undoubtedly please our fans, but the team will definitely be stronger and more competitive.”
The chances of AC Milan winning the league this season are very bright considering their standing in the table. Milan are currently topping the Serie A table with 68 points, three points ahead of second placed SSC http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 with six matches left to be played
in the season.
According to the latest media reports, Milan are planning on a smart move to sell their striker Zlatan Ibrhimovic to Real Madrid, which might provide them the bargaining chip and financial strength to buy the services of Ronaldo.
Needless to say, AC Milan will have to break the bank in order to buy the Portuguese. Ronaldo, the most expensive player in the history of football, was signed by Real Madrid in June of 2009 for a mammoth amount of £80 million. The former Manchester United
striker signed a six-year contract deal with Los Galacticos.
AC Milan’s strategy of new recruitments is more of a necessity as star midfielders, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Clarence-Seedorf-c9275 and Andre Pirlo, have been heavily linked with moves to the English Premier League club Manchester City.
While football pundits believe it would not be an easy decision for Ronaldo to make, a move to AC Milan after spending just two seasons at Santiago Bernabeu, AC Milan are expected to table a serious offer for the Portuguese International come the summer
transfer window.
