AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri rules out Kaka's return
AC Milan tactician Massimiliano Allegri has ruled out the possibility of Kaka’s return to San Siro. The coach has denied the rumours linking the Milanese club to a January purchase. “We all know that Kaka is an extraordinary player but right now we don’t
have time to ponder about the transfer market. The team is fine as it is. I don’t have any opinion on Kaka’s arrival as the team is highly competitive as it is.”
Kaka was purchased by AC Milan in the summer of 2003 by the Rossoneri and the player went on to have 6 glorious years at the club. The player became a firm fan favourite as the former Sao Paulo prodigy won a Scudetto, UEFA Champions League and a host of
other silverware. Kaka’s biggest achievement was his FIFA World Player of the Year award in 2007.
Despite rejecting a mega move to Manchester City in January 2009, Kaka got transferred to Real Madrid for a reported 66 million Euros. Much was expected of the player but Kaka’s constant injury woes and a dip in form meant the playmaker had a torrid first
season with the Galacticos.
Following Jose Mourinho’s appointment as the Real Madrid coach earlier this summer, Los Merengues have bought Mesut Ozil and Sergio Canales as central attacking players; a move that has put kaka’s first team place in doubts.
Kaka has been linked with both AC Milan and Internazionale in recent weeks but the hefty wage demands and the fact that Kaka was sold for a staggering 66 million Euros barely 12 months ago will mean Real will find it hard finding a suitor for his services.
Allegri was also asked whether the squad would be distracted as the speculation continues to rise, “I don’t think the rumours will distract my team at all. The squad is focused on the Champions League tie against Real Madrid and we play both Juventus and
Napoli right after that. We don’t have the time to get distracted. The squad must focus and understand everything else around us is just rumours.”
