AC Milan coach targets silverware on all fronts
AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri says that he wants to win the Serie A title this season and has also targeted glory in the UEFA Champions League.
Under his guidance, Milan have stormed to the top of the league and are currently three points clear of Lazio. Defending champions and city rivals Inter Milan are a further six points behind.
The Italian giants have also progressed into the first knockout stage of the Champions League with a game to spare after defeating French outfit Auxerre 2-0 in a group stage match on Tuesday 23 November.
The Rossoneri have undergone a drastic improvement since their third-place finish last season, after which they brought in Swedish international Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Spanish giants Barcelona. The striker has responded well to the faith placed in him by
Allegri, having netted 11 goals in 17 games for the club across all competitions.
As a result of his side's good form, Allegri sees no reason why Milan cannot force their way to being crowned kings of Italy as well as Europe.
He told La Gazzetta dello Sport, "We want to win everything. We have no limits and we have the players and so we will not just limit ourselves to the league. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is out technical leader and we needed a player like him.
"Ronaldinho? Perhaps he shoots late, but I like him, he is positive and is always there to help the team. Robinho can improve. Gennaro Gattuso drives us forward with character, after the Real Madrid game we have been able to turn it around and are stronger
in the defensive phase."
Milan will next take on Sampdoria away from home on Saturday 27 November as they attempt to maintain their status as league leaders.
