AC Milan determined to bring Luis Francisco ‘Chico’ Grando as Pirlo’s replacement – Serie A news
AC Milan have revealed their interest in the Palmeiras defensive midfielder, Luis Francisco Grando. The Serie A Champions have been strongly linked with the Brazilian and it is highly likely that the 24-year-old would make a move to Italy at the end of the
ongoing 2010/11 season.
The player, also known as ‘Chico’ has had only one game with the Sao Paolo-based outfit since joining them in 2011 from Atletico Paranaense. The Brazilian has also invited a lot of interest from several other Italian outfits including the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003,
Fiorentina and AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603.
The Scudetto holders look favourites to recruit the midfielder to San Siro after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andrea-Pirlo-c5702 made an announcement earlier that he would no longer be staying at Milan. Pirlo’s contract with the Rossoneri expired, which means that the 32-year-old could move
to any other club as a free agent.
It is believed that the Brazilian won’t have any hesitation in making a move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 as it would stand him with a chance of winning silverware on more consistent basis. Chico’s tactical style of play has earned him a lot of accolades already and the 24-year-old
has been termed as “the new Emerson”.
Grando seemed excited at the prospect of playing with a host of big name players, which was a clear indication of the youngster’s ambitions. His contract with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Palmeiras-c40165 is set to expire in December 2012 but the club is more likely to cash-in on the opportunity
of earning some big millions from Grando’s transfer.
Before joining Palmeiras, the 24-year-old had served Atletico Paranaense for six years. During that time, the midfielder made 113 League appearances and bagged 14 goals from those games. Grando is yet to make his debut for the Brazilian national team and
believed that playing in Milan could earn him a call-up to the Selecao setup.
AC Milan have already been crowned Serie A champions 2010/11, taking over from their local rivals http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/May-22-c39884 which will end their successful campaign.
