The vice-president admitted to the existence of a healthy rivalry between the top two teams in the Serie A standings, and insisted that the Scudetto is now turning into a two-horse race. He admitted that the rivalry has been going
on for a long time now.
While talking to Sky Sport Italia, the official said:
“We think we have the best squad in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 and Juventus have almost always been fighting for the major honours. The Scudetto is between Milan and Juventus this season.”
Milan currently lead the league standings after the win over Lecce gave them a four-point lead over rivals, Juventus.
The Diavolo chief insisted that the four-point lead is a crucial advantage, and gives his side some room to breathe.
“We have a four point advantage, a small barrier. It’s like a bonus to spend over the 11 games which are left.”
Galliani was asked to comment on Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s chances of winning the Golden Ball this season. The Milan executive believes that the Swede’s odds for Ballon d’Or are directly linked to the success of the team this season.
He insisted that the striker will have to make vital contributions towards a successful campaign for the club in order to win the prestigious award.
The Rossoneri vice-president went on to cool reports about the club gearing-up to place an audacious bid for Cristiano Ronaldo. He insisted that President Silvio Berlusconi’s comment about Ronaldo was only a gag, and was not to
be taken too seriously.
“President Silvio Berlusconi was only joking and I was surprised that his words received so much prominence. Nevertheless, I don’t dream about Cristiano Ronaldo every night…”he added.
The Real Madrid star has a valuation of over 100 million Euros, a price tag which is almost impossible for Milan to pay.
