The Feyenoord Rotterdam midfielder’s consistent performances have garnered him interest from the Serie A giants, who are rumoured to be interested in luring the youngster to San Siro
Reports in Dutch and Italian media indicate that AC Milan are keeping an eye on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 Rotterdam midfielder, Jordy Clasie.
The 21-year-old started his professional career in the 2010/11 season on loan at SBV Excelsior. The talented midfielder made 32 appearances for the Excelsior outfit, and impressed many in Netherlands with his consistent performances at the centre of the
park.
The Dutchman made his debut in the Rotterdammers colours at the start of the 2011/12 campaign, and went on to represent the Rotterdam giants in 33 league matches.
It was Clasie’s supreme performances that became one of the driving forces behind Feyenoord’s success. In addition, his showings earned him a lot of respect, not only in Rotterdam, but all across the country, with several fans comparing the youngster with
the likes of Barcelona’s Xavi.
The promising youngster, who represented http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Junior-c20060 level, was included in the Oranje’s provisional squad for UEFA Euro 2012. However, he missed out on the final 23 man list selected by the Flying Dutchmen’s then coach, Bert van Marwijk.
Louis van Gaal, who took over the Oranje’s coaching http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032 earlier this summer, was quick to assess the youngster’s talent, and handed him his first cap against
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Turkey-c3026 in Netherlands’ opening game of the 2014 World Cup qualifier on September 7.
Reports indicate that several clubs including AC Milan sent their scouts to Amsterdam Arena to weigh up Clasie’s performance. Although, the 21-year-old was far from his best against the Turks, many scouts were satisfied with his debut showing.
The technically gifted midfielder, who has thus far donned the jersey of the Rotterdam giants in 40 matches, has a contract at De Kuip Stadion that runs until the summer of 2015.
Although, the Feyenoord management will be keen to hold on to their star player’s services for at least another one-and-a-half season, an offer in the region of eight million Euros in the upcoming January transfer window could prove to be too tempting to
turn down.
