AC Milan legend http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Filippo-Inzaghi-c13777 to return for Scudetto run-in - Serie A Update
AC Milan’s legendary forward, Filippo Inzaghi, is set to return from a four-and-a-half month long injury lay-off. Inzaghi’s comeback would add great strength upfront and his experience will make a vital difference in the closing run of the Serie A.
Inzaghi suffered a torn left knee ligament at the start of the season and many feared for the legend's career. Super Pippo sustained the injury during a league encounter against Palermo and the forward had to undergo the knife in order to repair the damage. Speculations suggested that the player’s return would be delayed, but the striker is now set to make his return on scheduled time.
"I am fine, my knee is better. I hope to be back on the pitch next month. I have a great desire to play and give my contribution for the Scudetto, but I'll only return when I'm 100 per cent. It's not worth taking any risks; I hope to come back in 20 days. I feel quite good and this week I'll start to ramp it up because my knee is good, but I'll only play when I'm at 100 percent.”
When asked about the future plans, the striker revealed that he might end up becoming a tactician one day but currently he is looking forward to prolonging his legacy with the Rossoneri. Inzaghi said:
“I still have a lot of desire to play. I don't know if one day I would like to become a Coach. I could, but I am afraid I'd get angry too much.”
Inzaghi has entered the twilight of his career and there have been rumours of the legend going out of the Italian top flight. The striker, on the other hand, has negated any news of his exit from the Italian giants and has expressed his desire to play the upcoming 2011/12 season at the Red and Blacks.
AC Milan, the current league leaders, look forward to claiming the Serie A title after six years. With the current crop of forwards failing to trouble the opposition defences, Inzaghi’s return will add that much needed experience to the attack line.
The Rossoneri are 2 points ahead of their city rivals http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 and Udinese cannot be denied as the two outfits are not far behind in the Scudetto race. It’s still anyone’s game but one thing is for sure, AC Milan need to regain their consistency in order to take the Scudetto this season.
