AC Milan looking to bounce back in Naples
AC Milan are looking to bounce back as they are now going to face a tricky trip to the South of Italy, in Naples on Monday. Milan are looking to improve as they need to prove that they have learnt their lessons after their performance
against the Spanish side, Real Madrid.
AC Milan were totally outplayed and they were well beaten 2-0 in the home ground of Real Madrid, the Santiago Bernabeu. The match took place on Tuesday and the Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho sent out his best team to face the Italian side
AC Milan and the Los Blancos totally out classed Masimilano Allegri’s side.
The Rossoneri are currently second in the Serie A, with only two points behind the surprise early leaders in the Italian League, Lazio. They are not even a single point clear of city rivals Inter Milan and the only thing that separates
the two sides is the goal difference between them and Milan are the ones who are leading the scoreboard in terms of goal difference.
Napoli are just a couple of points behind Milan and they are steady at the number four spot of the Italian Serie A. However, Napoli were disappointing too during their 0-0 draw in the Europa League as they faced the severely weak English
side, Liverpool; who are currently fighting relegation in the English Premier League.
Napoli took a long time to actually pose a threat to the English side and only managed to create two or three good chances during the game. On the other hand, Liverpool weren’t any better. Still, Napoli are usually considered to be a tough
side at home and last season they were the ones who made a remarkable two goal come back against AC Milan during the injury time.
The visitor’s vice-president Adriano Galliani spoke to the press and he is adamant that Milan should improve after Tuesday’s game. He clearly stated that it’s not a drama and it’s true that they faced a humiliating defeat against Real
Madrid and they should not forget about it but life goes on and they should learn their lessons and play better.
He further added on that the team can easily suffer from an avalanche if it concedes two goals in two minutes but Milan stood strong in the defence and they easily recovered after the first two goals. He admitted the fact that he thought
that the score line could go even bizarre and he expected it to go around five nil to six nil, but he had faith in his men and they only conceded two.
He further added on by saying that Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Clarence Seedorf did get very good chances during the game but they just could not capitalize because of the amount of pressure put upon them as Madrid were playing at their home.
However, he did say that in case that Milan bounced a goal back, they might have scored an equalizer as the world saw Gareth Bale’s great performance against Inter Milan; the Tottenham left midfielder managed to bag himself two in around two minutes and Milan
could do that too.
He said that football is a strange game and while watching the match against Napoli last year, he left the game when Milan were leading 0-2 against them and only four minutes of stoppage time was given and he left the game there. Later,
when he heard the score line after the match, the game was drawn between the two teams and he never expected anything like that to happen.
As Napoli are aiming to qualify for the UEFA Champions League this seasons, Galliani knows what his opposition can hold against them. He knows that the game is important and he wants him men to perform at their best. What will happen?
Only time can tell.
