AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri unsure over club’s future – Football news
The AC Milan manager has admitted that the future is not in his hands and has insisted that the team has achieved the objectives for the campaign.
The tactician has been widely linked with a move to rivals AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 in the summer. There has been speculation that the AC Milan management is not happy with the performance of the team this season and is looking to replace the 45-year-old.
Rossoneri finished the season in third place in the Serie A behind the likes of Juventus and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003. The team qualified for a place in next year’s UEFA Champions League but there has been uncertainty over the manager in the last few months.
Allegri claimed that he is unsure of what the club has decided and admitted that there are chances that he may leave. The manager added that he does not want to walk away and stated that he will accept whatever decision the club makes.
“I have a contract, so when a season ends you talk to the club in order to find out what's next. The club might want to replace me, I don’t know. I certainly can’t walk away, as I have a contract, so it is their decision, but right now talking about the future is too early,” the Italian was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the tactician stressed that he has had great support from the president and the board over the last three years. He claimed that the club could have sacked him at the start of the season when Milan were struggling in the bottom-half. However, Allegri believes that he is satisfied with the season given the start the team had.
“In three years the president has put his faith in me and could so easily have fired me this season after the first eight games. We have introduced many new young faces to the mix and helped the older guard too, so Milan have solid foundations,” he concluded.
AC Milan finished the season in third place on the standings table with 72 points, 15 points behind champions Juventus.
