AC Milan reignite the interest in Olympique Lyonnais’ Aly Cissokho
Latest reports coming out of Italy suggest that the current Serie A table toppers have rekindled their interest in Olympique Lyon wing back Aly Cissokho.
The French left back has a bitter transfer history with the Italian giants. In the summer of 2009, AC Milan announced the capture of marauding wing back from FC Porto. The transfer deal was finalised barring the player’s medical. The Rossoneri fans were
rejoicing upon hearing the news as the club had managed to land a talented wing back to fill the gap left by Paolo Maldini’s departure. However, Cissokho’s deal with AC Milan fell through as the player failed his medical.
AC Milan CEO, Adriano Galliani revealed that Cissokho had a teeth condition that could threaten the player’s career. AC Milan refused to pay the 15 million Euros asking price, asking for a discount instead. However, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 refused to offer a discount and
the deal was promptly called off. Many believe that AC Milan exaggerated the nature of the condition in order to get a discount on the player’s signature.
Hurt and insulted, Cissokho joined the Ligue 1 outfit instead, and lashed out on the Rossoneri in his maiden press conference. The setback was soon forgotten and Cissokho has been one of the best full backs in the French League. His performances against
big teams in particular have been noteworthy. Furthermore, the player has already made his Les Blues debut despite being just 23 years of age.
Les Gones faced Ream Madrid in their UEFA Champions League
round of 16 tie at Stade de Gerland, and Cissokho produced another excellent performance as Lyon held Jose Mourinho’s men to a draw. His latest performance seems to have won back interest from AC Milan.
AC Milan’s have failed to acquire a decent left back ever since the legendary Paolo Maldini hung up his boots. The Rossoneri coach, Massimiliano Allegri has tried many options but the wide areas remain the Daviolo’s Achilles’ heel. Even though nothing solid
has been reported in the media, it’s doubtful whether http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aly-Cissokho-c5313 would want to join AC Milan after the treatment handed out to him by the former European champions.
