Gattuso stated that having lost two of their brightest stars and fighting with limited budgets, AC Milan must look to walk the same path as Juventus in their upcoming season.
The former Rossoneri player stated that the Bianconeri’s triumphant campaign was designed around just two veterans Andrea Pirlo and Gigi Buffon, and the rest of the players put their sweat behind the team to take them to the victory.
The Scion defender also hailed the role of Antonio Conte as the master mind that drove the players beyond their limits.
While talking to the press, the 34-year-old said:
“Milan’s aim for next season could be to fight and imitate Juve last year. It was a team built around two champions in Gigi Buffon and Andrea Pirlo – and then you had the others who fought so hard that they vomited. You can see that boss Antonio Conte is
behind them.”
Gattuso stated that Massimiliano Allegri will have to embrace the resilient spirit of Conte, whose untiring efforts resulted in Juventus winning their first Serie A title after relegation.
The former Diavolo defender went on to add that the Rossoneri always focussed on the threatening members of the Bianconeri squad, not realizing that their manager was their most formidable weapon.
