AC Milan sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic on loan from Barcelona
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is now officially an AC Milan player. The player is set to sign a four year contract with the team, according to a press release that the Italian club released just hours ago.
Adriano Galliani's ruthless and consistent efforts seem to have paid off. The Italian is coming back to Milan, Italy after a week of negotiations with the Spanish outfit, Barcelona. His efforts seem to have paid off as he was caught saying that the player is now in the bag. It is also a mission accomplished by the Milan President who said earlier last month that if an opportunity was to arise to sign a super star, he would do so.
According to an official statement that was released by the AC Milan website:
"AC Milan would like to communicate they have signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Barcelona on a loan deal with the right to an option to buy him after the 2010/2011 season for the sum of €24m.
"He will have a medical on Monday and then sign his contract."
The figures leading up to the transfer have also been confirmed by Adriano Galliani. He has told the press in Barcelona, "Yes we have defined the acquisition on loan with right to buy at €24m. The player will sign his contract on Monday.
"That is the figure we will pay over three years of €8m. I want to thank all of Milan and Silvio Berlusconi who made a big effort for this operation."
Ibrahimovic was more than ecstatic after the deal went through and the Swedish striker was caught saying, "Milan are one of the strongest clubs in the world. We have a fantastic attack."
"I am a Milan player. I am really happy that everything has turned out for the best. They had a fantastic season last year, and I have nothing to say to the Inter supporters.”
"This move gives me more adrenaline. I have moved here to win the Champions League with Milan. I want to win the double."
Adriano Galliani would be hailed as the miracle man as he managed to convince Barcelona to drop their price evaluation from seventy million Euros to just twenty four million. Milan have managed to sign the player on a major discount as the player initially cost Barcelona 66 million Euros plus ace striker Samuel Eto’o.
