AC Milan skipper Massimo Ambrosini confident about the Scudetto- Serie A news
AC Milan midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Massimo-Ambrosini-c24579, has revealed that the Serie A title race is over and the Rossoneri are now just four games away from the title. He was talking in the wake of AC Milan’s hard-fought 1-0 win over relegation threatened Brescia Calcio.
Brazilian International Robinho netted the lone goal of the game to give Milan three precious points. The match was played on Saturday, April 23, at Stadio Mario Rigamonti.
The midfielder believed that this victory has almost sealed the title for AC Milan and hailed the players and officials whose efforts have enabled the Rossoneri to come this far. He further mentioned, “This match, unless we commit suicide, can be considered
the match that decides the race for the Scudetto. All season long, this team [has] deserved its position in the standings.”
The Italian international claimed that Milan’s closest city and title rivals, Inter Milan, are now eight points adrift and with just four games remaining, Inter are highly unlikely to pose a challenge for the Red and Blacks unless there is a slip in Milan’s
step towards the Scudetto .
Ambrosini seemed delighted to be back in Milan’s playing eleven after the 33-year-old remained on the side lines for eight weeks due to a tear in his right thigh. He mentioned that it really feels great to be a part of the winning squad and now wants to
lift the Scudetto as it is the only chance of major silverware remaining for the Red and Blacks this season.
Further commenting upon the team’s recent run of good results, Ambrosini added, “When things go well for the team, it hurts to stay away from the field and not participate in something good, and it was important to win this game.”
Ambrosini joined the Serie A outfit from Cesena in 1995 and since then the midfielder has appeared 410 times for the club so far in all competitions. He also has 34 goals under his belt.
AC Milan are leading the Serie A table with 74 points and are eight points clear of the second placed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan with four games remaining in the campaign.
