AC Milan’s talismanic striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029 has received a three-match ban for the recent booking he got in the game against Fiorentina on Sunday, April 10. The Swedish international was given a straight red card at the away win against La Voila.
Ibrahimovic has reached the limit for yellow cards after receiving one in the recent fixture against AS Bari. The forward was accused of swearing at an assistant referee in the last game, resulting in the referee giving him his marching orders.
Ibrahimovic denied the allegation saying that he was only talking to himself and not the linesman, but the decision stands against the Milan star. The match was Ibrahimovic’s return from a 2-match ban for misconduct against Bari, and now missing out another
3 games would be a major setback for the player, and the men in red and black.
Ibrahimovich said while speaking to the reporters, “I lost the ball and was angry with myself, not the assistant referee. I was talking to myself. I didn’t protest the red card because there was nothing to be said, he had made his decision.”
“My team has every reason to be angry with me, as during a period when Fiorentina were putting on the pressure was certainly not the right time to get sent off. I am sorry, but it seems as if I can’t even mutter to myself without getting into trouble. I’ll
do everything I can to help Milan win the Scudetto,” added the striker.
Ibrahimovic’s optimism at one side, but the ban means that he will be on the sidelines for the games against Sampdoria, Brescia and Bologna. Milan would suffer in the absence of the key player and the team would feel that on the field.
